There is nothing better than making it all up,

The 'Xy' logo is my artist's logo and signature. It comes from my Dad. Pronounced 'ex-ee', Xy is his version of the word 'Excellent' - the highest accolade my work could receive. It will always remain part of it.

I've enjoyed doing my kind of art for some time, and now I've decided to share what I do.
I am not tied to a particular subject matter - most if my work is created from the top of my head, with only my imagination for reference. My preferred medium is digital painting, with oils a close second. Sometimes I combine the two.
For my digital work I mainly use Procreate on iPad, and occasionally Rebelle 8 on pc; for oils I prefer Michael Harding products. The artwork videos on this website and my social media posts show glimpses of my usual processes. I try to avoid creative blocks by letting my imagination guide me from the start. A lack of pre-planning naturally leads to ongoing battles with composition, shapes and values but that makes it more exciting for me. I usually end up with something I am happy to put my 'Xy' on.
